The Fibaro Smoke Sensor is easy to install and thanks to its large grille it can detect even the smallest amount of smoke so you can react in time.
Some materials burn without smoke, so Fibaro engineers have installed a temperature sensor that acts as additional protection. If the amount of smoke is not enough to trigger the alarm, the device can detect a possible fire threat, for example, if the temperature difference has changed abruptly. A rapid change in temperature or rise to 54 ° C is sufficient for the device to detect a threat and alert occupants of the room. Only this type of smoke sensors provide high efficiency, no matter what is burning.
When designing the smoke detector, Fibaro did everything possible to anticipate all possible scenarios – using a mode of compatibility with alarm systems and wired or wireless connection. Therefore, you can install the device where you need it, whether you can connect to the power supply, whether the walls allow wireless communication or the type of alarm system you use.
You can connect the device to a 12V DC or 24V power supply or use it with a battery and take advantage of up to 3 years of battery life.
The sensitivity of the sensor can be adjusted to the place where the device is mounted. In the kitchen, if the sensor is very sensitive, it can be activated when frying meat, for example, so the sensitivity must be reduced to avoid false alarms. In other rooms where smoke is unlikely under normal circumstances, the sensor should be set to maximum sensitivity to provide the best protection.
The device has a ‘black box’ that records information about smoke levels and temperature. The sensor monitors smoke levels and sends information to the main hub over a period of time.
For your safety and to ensure that the detector is working properly there is a test mode. Communication in the wireless Z-Wave network keeps you connected at a great distance to the hub and other indirectly connected Z-Wave modules. The built-in LED indication allows you to easily check whether the sensor has a good range and can communicate with the Fibaro system or needs to be relocated.
